NFL reveals who Chiefs will face in regular-season opener

As is tradition, the reigning Super Bowl champions will get to kick off the NFL’s regular season with a Thursday night game to open the year.

That honor will once again go to the Kansas City Chiefs in 2024, and they will get quite the marquee matchup to get things started.

The NFL announced Monday that the Chiefs will host the Baltimore Ravens in the Thursday night opener on Sept. 5. That represents a rematch of last year’s AFC Championship Game, which the Chiefs won 17-10 in Baltimore.

The Chiefs were always set to host Baltimore in 2024, so this was a no-brainer for the league in many ways.

An AFC Championship rematch that will also feature reigning MVP Lamar Jackson is pretty much a dream setup for the NFL. There seemed to be a real budding rivalry between the two sides after that game as well.

The NFL is set to release the rest of the regular-season schedule on Wednesday. However, we also know what the second game of the year is going to be.
