Broncos Sign WR Nick Williams, Waive RB Damarea Crockett
USA TODAY Sports

The Denver Broncos made a pair of roster moves Monday, signing wide receiver Nick Williams and waiving running back Damarea Crockett, the team announced.

Williams is a rookie undrafted free agent out of UNLV, where he tallied 28 catches for 436 yards and two touchdowns in 2022, his only season with the Rebels.

An Aurora native who attended Cherry Creek High School, the 6-foot-4, 212-pound wideout began his collegiate career at CSU-Pueblo, totaling 107 receptions for 1,428 yards and nine TDs across 35 games.

“He's really important. I’ve got a ton of respect for Nick and his game," UNLV coach Marcus Arroyo said last November. "I wish we had him longer.”

Williams will look to find a niche among Denver's jam-packed WR corps led by Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, Tim Patrick, Marvin Mims, KJ Hamler, and Marquez Callaway. The top reserves include Kendall Hinton, Lil'Jordan Humphrey, Montrell Washington, Jalen Virgil, and Brandon Johnson.

Crockett, a third-year pro, had been with the Broncos since 2020. He missed last season due to a torn ACL.

Crockett's release trims the club's RB room to five: Javonte Williams, Samaje Perine, Tony Jones, Tyler Badie, and Jaleel McLaughlin.
