Charles Leclerc ready to prove himself in ‘exciting challenge’ against Lewis Hamilton in 2025

The Monegasque reflected back on the time when the deal wasn’t revealed to the public and was still in the works. However, regardless of the hints, it was a great surprise for Leclerc to learn about Hamilton’s move to Ferrari. As the Scuderia decided to not to resign Carlos Sainz.

I knew [for] quite a few months that it was a possibility, that it was on the table. It was still a surprise to learn that there was [an] opportunity of this happening. Leclerc mentioned.

Charles Leclerc bids farewell to Carlos Sainz after ‘amazing years’ as Ferrari teammates

Chares Leclerc and Carlos Sainz were teammates at the Scuderia since the start of the 2021 season. The two drivers shared a great bond on track and had little to no problems working together. Leclerc reflected on the time that he worked together with Sainz and the ‘amazing relationship’. However, working alongside Lewis Hamilton is itself a great achievement for any driver in Formula 1.

I’ve had a really amazing relationship with Carlos. We have had amazing years together, more difficult years also together as a team, because the performance was not exactly where we wanted. Leclerc said.

Anyhow, Leclerc and Sainz will be teamed up one last season before Hamilton’s entry to the Italian constructor. Hence, the Monegasque highlighted that he was looking forward to end the last season together in the best way possible. Subsequently, the Briton joining the team would be a great challenge for Charles Leclerc.

But we have been working extremely well together and we are looking forward to this last year together in order to end that in the best way possible. Then Lewis will be joining the team, which is an amazing challenge for me, because he's the most successful driver in F1 history. Leclerc highlighted.

Certainly, 2025 will be a great challenge for Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton. On the other hand, Carlos Sainz is currently looking to secure his future for next season. The 29-year-old has already scored a victory in the 2024 season. On the contrary, Lewis Hamilton has been in a victory slump since the past two seasons, and the issues produced by Mercedes would likely disable Hamilton’s winning chances.
